It turned out to be a good decision. We did not fill up gas for almost 2 weeks. Since you asked - I'll give you my BMW roof rack issue - I mentioned to the Service Advisor one of the 5mm bolts came loose and fell out of the rack along with the back up nut, so he said he would take care of it. He called later and said no luck, no such bolt in stock and BMW doesn't provide parts to their factory roof rack, so SOL. I used to fix BMW motorcycles so had a good supply of stainless 5mm allen bolts at my remote home, so replaced it myself when I got there - disconcerting to see that my home workshop is better supplied than a major BMW dealer. Also your tech torqued down the other bolts so hard they are stripped, and cannot be loosened, since I put the rack on each weekend and take it off during the week and have to loosen those bolts to do it, I will need to drill them out and replace them from my supply.     "Hi Melissa, I would give Mark a 5+ for is efforts in getting Mini NA to cover the defects (rather than repairs)on my car. I am giving the experience a 4 because now I have new noises. Ticking when the car is idoling in drive, then it sounds like a helicopter engine when on the highway. All is normal between 5 and 35 miles per hour.     "The loaner car that was given to me was very sticky and had bits of food stuck to the steering wheel and radio controls, it also had almost no gas in it. When my car was given back to me it had an exterior light out (and no one felt they should tell me that) and the front brake service indicator had been reset despite only having my rear brakes worked on. The person outside of the dealership INSISTED he pull my car up despite it being very accessible to me and ignored my requests to please just let me get my car. Every time I get in it after work has been done the seats need to be adjusted and the floor mats usually need to be yanked out from the seat rails so I would have rather gotten into the car while it was out of the way so I had the necessary time to adjust without being in the way of everyone coming in and out of the dealership. I was also told by the service adviser that, "ALL THE COOPER 'S'S UP IN THE HIGHER MILEAGE ARE BURNING ANYWHERE FROM A HALF TO A WHOLE QUART EVERY 2500-3500 MILES" despite the fact that my engine only has about 34,000 miles on it. The car itself is at 70,000 miles but the engine was replaced around 37,000 miles. MINI seems to think every 15,000 miles is good for an oil change, that would mean I would have to put about 5 quarts of oil (which is even more than the car should hold at anytime) into the car between every oil change, something doesn't sound right there."   –   Katrina T., Watertown, MA Apr 22, 2013
